Andrei Jerdetski is a key member of our Building & Construction Law Team. He holds qualifications in both Law and Construction Management and is a licenced builder in New South Wales.
Andrei’s practice focuses on assisting developers and subcontractors to recover progress payments and resolve disputes under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 1999 (NSW), as well as advising and representing builders and homeowners in relation to disputes under the Home Building Act 1989 (NSW)
Andrei has diligent and determined approach to the law which, coupled with his deep understanding of the technical aspects of construction, serve his clients well.
About Andrei
Before coming to the law Andrei worked for 15 years in various pre-construction roles, including in cost planning and contract management. His responsibilities included feasibility proposals, contract reviews, cost plans, tendering, value engineering, and design and construct proposals.
Andrei’s experience in the construction industry provides him with invaluable insights that enable him to navigate complex issues relating to construction contracts, contract administration, regulatory environments, technical defects, delays and more.
Being a licenced builder Andrei has extensive technical knowledge of the Australian Standards and the Building Code of Australia. His years as a cost planner and estimator also enable hi rare ability to critically review Expert Reports and Scott Schedules both as regards alleged defects and rectification costs.
Andrei is particularly adept at assisting clients in relation to the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 1999 (NSW) having operated a consultancy business assisting head contractors and subcontractors to make and respond Payment Claims and Adjudication Applications whilst completing his law degree.
