About The Role
This is not just another Senior Solicitor role. It is a leadership role.
You will lead our Commercial Litigation practice in Sydney, working closely with both our Managing Partner and our Head of Commercial Litigation (National).
You will:
- lead and grow the Sydney Commercial Litigation practice,
- solve problems, working on complex matters,
- develop and strengthen client and referrer relationships,
- drive business development and market profile in Sydney,
- mentor and develop Solicitors across the Sydney team,
- contribute to broader firm strategy and growth,
- help shape culture, standards and future capability in Sydney, and
- collaborate with other practice leaders across the firm.
Fee-earning expectations are calibrated to enable sustainable leadership success.
About You
This role is likely to suit you if you:
- have 8+ years PAE in a commercial litigation practice (with experience in building and construction law, corporate litigation, insolvency and professional negligence preferred),
- are an accomplished litigator ready for a true practice leadership role,
- are frustrated by limited progression, politics or bureaucracy,
- are already leading informally and ready for formal authority,
- are commercially minded and energised by growth,
- have strong client relationship skills, existing referral partners and business development capability,
- are an Accredited Specialist or interested in obtaining specialist accreditation,

This Guide, along with our Home Builder’s Guide to Resolving Disputes in NCAT, continue to be strong marketing tools and excellent sources of business.
We have restructured and introduced more operational support to give Sam the capacity to help our Heads grow their practices, deliver excellent client outcomes and lead their teams sustainably.
About The Role

This role reports to the Operations Manager, who is responsible for operational strategy. Your focus will be ensuring office operations, workplace experience and technology run smoothly day to day, maintaining high standards and supporting practical improvements.
About the Role
- Oversee reception and maintain a high standard of client experience
- Keep the office organised, well-presented and running smoothly
- Manage facilities, suppliers, meeting rooms and workplace assets
- Support onboarding, offboarding and day-to-day administration (HRIS, leave, banking)
- Coordinate our meeting rhythm
- Provide administrative support to the leadership team
- Own workplace technology coordination — setup, troubleshooting and IT liaison
- Champion the use of technology to improve efficiency (phones, meeting rooms, workstations, Microsoft Office Suite etc)
- Resolve issues quickly to minimise disruption
- Coordinate team events and recognition initiatives
- Support practical improvements to the workplace and assist with operational projects
- Support both the Newcastle and Sydney offices (with travel to Sydney approx. once per month)
About You
You are organised, proactive and take ownership. You notice what needs attention and follow it through. You enjoy being the person others rely on. You get satisfaction from making things easier and keeping things running well. You are also an early adopter of technology and probably have tones of productivity tricks and hacks you can show us.
You will likely bring:
- Experience in office management or workplace coordination within a professional services environment (legal experience highly regarded)
- Experience in a mid-sized organisation where structure and standards matter
- Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation
- Confidence managing multiple priorities
- Strong communication and relationship skills
- A practical, tech-confident mindset (setup, troubleshooting, working with IT providers)
- Experience managing employee engagement activities general events with flair and creativity
- An interest in improving how teams use technology to improve their efficiency and productivity eg. AI, automation etc
- Advanced Microsoft Office suite skills – word, teams, excel and powerpoint (ideally you have a skill for design – simplifying presentations and making them more engaging).
