We are currently recruiting both Senior and Associate level Solicitors to join our firm and play a lead role in the growth of our Sydney Building and Construction practice.

You will be joining a highly recognised legal team in NSW lead by a specialist Building & Construction Lawyer with dual qualifications in Law and Construction Management. Your future mentor is an expert in Security of Payment Laws and an Accredited Adjudicator with Adjudicate Today, ready to share his knowledge and collaborate to achieve great outcomes for your clients.

You will work closely with our Senior team to service our Sydney based clients’ while being supported by a strong brand, existing client base, comprehensive marketing strategy and an experienced team and mentoring from Senior Lawyers and Directors.

About You

You will have experience in the following areas:

  • Building and Construction Law, including Security of Payment Claims and Adjudications and Home Building Disputes,
  • Ideally you are interested in obtaining your Specialist Accreditation in Commercial Litigation and we would support you to achieve this.

To be successful in this role you will also need:

  • at least 8 years PAE for Senior Associate and 4 years PAE for Associate Solicitor,
  • to be able to work autonomously and as part of a team with the ability to manage a case load and time record work,
  • a strong desire to grow your practice and be a contributor to the firm’s success,
  • deliver an exceptional client experience,
  • strong legal technical, drafting and advisory skills,
  • the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and maintain high-level attention to detail, and
  • the ability to build and maintain positive client, team member and referral relationships.

Commercial Law & Litigation Lawyer - Associate / Senior Associate

Roberts Crosbie Mortensen Lawyers are a specialist Commercial Litigation firm with offices in Sydney and Newcastle. We have a growing demand for assistance in commercial transactions, business law, insolvency and corporate restructure.

To help meet this increasing demand, we are seeking a technically able and commercially astute Lawyer with at least 3 years PAE to join our exceptional team. You will work directly with Sam Roberts on high end and complex commercial transactions and advice as well as general commercial matters with exposure to some litigation.

To be successful in this role you will need experience in the following areas of practice:

  • Sale of Business,
  • Mergers and Acquisitions,
  • Business Structures & Trusts,
  • Company Law,
  • Corporate Insolvency & Restructuring,
  • Commercial and Retail Leases,
  • Commercial Litigation, and
  • Franchising.

The successful candidate will have excellent drafting skills in relation to Commercial Agreements including Shareholders Agreements, Terms and Conditions of Trade and Business Succession Planning Agreements. You will have both direct conduct and responsibility for files and assist with the carriage of large cases.

Legal Secretary

Roberts Crosbie Mortensen Lawyers is an established and fast-growing law firm with offices in Sydney and Newcastle CBD. We value our employees who form a vital part of the firm’s culture.

Due to ongoing growth and expansion, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Secretary to join our team to provide support to experienced Solicitors’. The role will require a switched on, motivated Secretary who can pre-empt situations and provide first class support.

You will be working with our commercial team, supporting experienced Solicitors’ and working within an amazing wider support team.

You will be responsible for:

  • providing proactive legal support to your Solicitors’
  • document preparation
  • liaising with clients
  • client billing
  • answering and transfer of calls
  • general administration duties

To successfully undertake the duties of this position you will possess:

  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Legal Secretary (preferably in Commercial Litigation),
  • Previous experience supporting Associate Solicitors,
  • Accuracy and a minimum typing speed of 60wpm,
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite,
  • Advanced organisational skills,
  • Experience in the preparation of precedent Court documents, and
  • Exceptional attention to detail and be highly organised.
