About Hamish
He has over 15 years’ experience in business and corporate advisory, dealing with complex commercial and property transactions in Australia and New Zealand acting for entrepreneurs, SME’s and large corporations including McDonalds and Vodafone.
Before moving to Australia, Hamish worked for over 10 years for a specialist Commercial Law firm in Auckland where his practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, restructures, joint ventures and sales of businesses.
Hamish has experience working across complex projects that require both commercial and property law. For example during a one-year stint with one of Ireland’s largest law firms he spent time working on what was the largest European mall development of the time. He has also been involved in negotiations with the New Zealand Government regarding Treaty of Waitangi claims and the significant re-acquisition of Crown assets including land, forestry and commercial buildings.
He has bought, sold and re-structured businesses in many sectors (hospitality, mining, cinema, waste management and insurance to name a few) including the not-for-profit space with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Trust.
Hamish also has practical business experience having operated multiple foreign businesses for approximately 6 years before moving to Australia so he knows what it is like to be a business owner.
