Before joining Roberts Crosbie Mortensen Lawyers, Michael worked for 2 years with a national employment law firm where he provided workplace relations services to some of Australia’s largest transport and mining companies.

About Michael

Michael works with employers and employees across a wide range of industries and professions.

He has a passion for resolving workplace disputes and regularly appears in the Fair Work Commission bringing or defending unfair dismissal, general protections, bullying and underpayment claims.

Michael also assists employers and employees to make and understand complying Employment Contracts, interpret Modern Awards, develop industry specific Workplace Policies, and manage risks relating to performance management, termination of employment, misuse of confidential information and the enforcement of restraints of trade.

He is a strong advocate for employers adopting best practices for engaging, managing and terminating employees and regularly assists business with the preparation, implementation and use of customised Employer Legal Documents Solutions including Flowcharts and Checklists, Employment Contracts, Independent Contractor Agreements, Workplace Policies, Template Letters including Performance Management Letters, Warning Letters and Termination Letters, and Deeds of Release.

When not dealing with employment issues, Michael supports our Business & Company Team in relation to the negotiation and preparation of commercial agreements, sales of businesses and commercial leases.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Laws, Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, and a Bachelor of Business. He is admitted as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of NSW and the High Court of Australia.
